On December 18th, 2022, Fatma Al Shihi, a Level 3 BA English Language student, presented a research paper on “The Future of English in Oman from a Student’s Perspective” at Al Buraimi University College's seventh National Student Research Conference “Fostering Innovative Research, Integrating Academic Practices”. The conference was conducted in hybrid mode and the length of each presentation was fifteen minutes. Topics covered in the conference were: Language, Literature, Translation, Information Technology and Law Studies. The conference provided an opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students to present papers, participate in discussions, and develop collaborations across different fields. Participants from a wide variety of disciplines explored future challenges and became familiar with the recent trends inmulti-disciplinary research.
