Faculty of English Language Studies
The Faculty of the English Language Studies offers two major independent academic programmes (Foundation and BA (Hons) in English Language) and collaborates with the Faculty of Business Studies and the Faculty of Information Technology to offer courses in their programmes.
The Faculty of English Language Studies consists of two teams of academic staff who are responsible for the provision of undergraduate education – BA (Hons) English Language – and the College’s General Foundation Programme (GFP). The Faculty is also responsible for the teaching of language modules in the Faculty of Business Management and the Faculty of Information Technology, and for tutorial support on the MA in Applied Linguistics offered by the University of Bedfordshire. Some members of staff also teach courses offered by the Majan Training Institute.
The Faculty of English Language Studies engages in research and scholarly activities reflecting the Faculty’s academic profile: English language teaching, linguistics, and educational research.
The Faculty’s BA (Hons) English Language is validated by the University of Bedfordshire (UK) and approved by Oman’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI), in addition to the General Foundation Programme. The University of Bedfordshire recognises Majan University College's Foundation Certificate as a normal entry qualification to the degree and DipHE programmes offered by MUC.
