Majan University College would like to congratulate Ms Nabila Al Macki, Deputy Dean (Academic Affairs), for being elected as the chairperson of the Oman Association for Quality in Higher Education (OAQHE). Ms Al Macki brings to the association nearly 20 years of experience working in higher education and quality assurance domain and her service as an external reviewer for the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA). Ms Al Macki has extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She is a certified Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK (SFHEA). She also is a member of numerous professional bodies and committees.
Ms Al Macki’s research interests include curriculum development, teaching, learning and assessment strategies, leadership and staff development. Ms Al Macki made great contributions to elevating the level of education in Oman by utilising her experience as a quality assurance leader, and an academic and external reviewer for various higher education institutions. In line with Oman’s vision 2040 and its objectives to enhance the quality of education in the higher education sector, through the association, Ms. Nabila aims to raise awareness of the importance of quality assurance culture in the higher education sector and the community at large.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr Maha Kobeil, Dean and Chief Executive Officer of Majan University College stated: “From an institutional perspective, we are confident that Nabila's new appointment will add to enhancing the awareness of the importance of quality assurance in the Omani higher education sector.
