Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Farooq and Ms. Yevette Mathew, who are both senior lecturers at Majan University College, in the Faculty of English Language Studies, conducted a workshop entitled “Using Padlet to Promote Learner Autonomy” at the First Forum on Social Sciences, Language and Literature, which took place at Modern College of Business and Science. The theme of the forum was “Innovations and Challenges in Promoting Learner Autonomy”. All presentations, workshops and poster presentations at the event focused on the changing nature of English language classrooms, which are becoming increasingly heterogeneous, multicultural and digitally supported. The forum provided teachers, researchers and educationists from across the Sultanate with a platform to share and discuss good practices. All participants found the forum to be valuable in creating greater awareness about the potential benefits of digitally supported classrooms for language learning and teaching. .
