Undergraduate Programmes
A prospective student can enrol on an undergraduate programme through various entry modes such as:
- having qualified with the GFP from MUC or other universities or colleges in Oman.
- through exemption testing, where students coming to Majan University College take Undergraduate Entry Tests (UG Test).
- through a valid IELTS score of Band 5 or above; or
- through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) a process through which certificated learning at other HEIs is assessed through the College’s approved RPL procedures.
Direct Entry
Prospective students can register directly on the undergraduate programme if they have successfully completed the College’s General Foundation Programme (GFP) or passed the undergraduate entry tests (English, Maths, and IT). Those who have an IELTS (Academic) score of Band 5 are still required to take and pass the Entry Tests for Maths and IT.
Entry through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The College has well-developed procedures through which recognition of prior learning (RPL) is assessed. MUC accepts students who studied in other colleges/ universities, either in Oman or abroad, provided that these institutions are approved by the MoHERI. Modules studied at other institutions are assessed according to the level, content and credits acquired and then mapped against modules offered at MUC.
