BA (Hons) Business Administration – Information Systems Pathway
About the Programme
The BA (Hons) in Business Administration with Information Systems pathway is designed to meet the growing needs of today's business world by merging IT skills with business knowledge.This programme will enable students to apply information technology solutions to business situations, evaluate technical knowledge and confidently take on project – and team – management in IT-related business scenarios. It also develops a good understanding of the business environment including the legal, economic, behavioural and human aspects and the core concepts underlying the practice of finance and accounting, management principles and the development of successful business strategies. It is aimed at developing students' skills of interpreting and communicating complicated technical ideas to those with less technical knowledge and prepares them for leadership roles in Business and IT management such as IT consultant, management consultant, business analyst, project manager, systems analyst, business systems and integration consultant and security and privacy consultant.

Admission Criteria
Undergraduate Programmes
A prospective student can enrol on an undergraduate programme through various entry modes such as:
- having qualified with the GFP from MUC or other universities or colleges in Oman.
- through exemption testing, where students coming to Majan University College take Undergraduate Entry Tests (UG Test).
- through a valid IELTS score of Band 5 or above; or
- through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) a process through which certificated learning at other HEIs is assessed through the College’s approved RPL procedures.
Direct Entry
Prospective students can register directly on the undergraduate programme if they have successfully completed the College’s General Foundation Programme (GFP) or passed the undergraduate entry tests (English, Maths, and IT). Those who have an IELTS (Academic) score of Band 5 are still required to take and pass the Entry Tests for Maths and IT.
Entry through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The College has well-developed procedures through which recognition of prior learning (RPL) is assessed. MUC accepts students who studied in other colleges/ universities, either in Oman or abroad, provided that these institutions are approved by the MoHERI. Modules studied at other institutions are assessed according to the level, content and credits acquired and then mapped against modules offered at MUC.
Programme Structure
Students are required to pass 8 modules totalling 120 credits in each year (level). In total students must satisfactorily complete 480 credits (32 modules) with a combination of core and specialisation modules to be eligible for the award of the BA (Honours).
