Published Article
Dr. Iain McGee had the article 'Reconsidering Paragraphing Pedagogy: A Descriptivist Perspective' published in the journal 'English in Education'. It draws on a wide range of research findings from a number of linguistic, educational and psychological research specialisms, the article presents a novel descriptivist pedagogy of paragraphing.
By means of an analogy, paragraphing is described in a way in which research findings are respected, while at the same time educators’ concerns and needs are addressed.
Congratulations Malee

'I am delighted to have successfully presented at my first International Linguistics Conference at the Kelaniya University in Sri Lanka this August. The conference hosted over a hundred presenters from many countries and it was quite an honour to represent Majan. The conference gave the opportunity to give light to my dissertation which I completed during my last year at Majan. From the first semester at Majan, all the students from the English faculty are encouraged to research a variety of topics under the umbrella of English language and Linguistics. This encouragement lead to the curiosity that transformed me from a student to a researcher. I am so grateful for the assistance provided by my supervisors from the beginning of my academic career as a student to where I am now as a post graduate researcher.'

Malee Thumbowila, Former Student at Majan
