Dr. Mohammed Waleed Ashour, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Information Technology at Majan University College, presented a review paper at the Third International Conference on Emerging Technologies in Computing 2020 (iCETiC '20). The conference, organized by the International Association for Educators and Researchers, took place online on 20th August 2020. Originally, it had been due to be held at London Metropolitan University, but this proved impossible because of the Covid-19 epidemic. Dr M. Waleed’s paper investigated the main issues, concepts and trends related to extraction and representation methods for steel surface image features. The conference’s keynote speakers were Professor Jonathan C. Roberts (Bangor University, UK) and Professor Andrew Ware (University of South Wales, UK). The technical sponsor of the conference was the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the conference proceedings will be published in Springer’s Series Lecture Notes of the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.
