Dr. Ahmad Najeh, Director of Learning Resources at Majan University College, recently presented a paper entitled “Using Open Source Automated Systems: The Majan University College Library Model” at a three-day international conference (26th-28th February 2019) organised by the Oman Libraries and information Association. The main theme of the conference was “Information Professions and Community Responsibility.” The conference provided an excellent context in which to discuss libraries and information science. High-level specialists from both inside and outside the Sultanate, including representatives from SQU, Ministries and government and private educational institutions were present in the conference, creating a stimulating environment where ideas on research, libraries, and managerial and technical practices were shared and debated through formal presentations and interactive sessions.
