Dr. Veena Tewari, Assistant Professor and Programme Manager from the Faculty of Business Management at Majan University College, delivered a keynote address during a two-day international conference (9th-10th October 2018) organized by Periyar University, Tamil Nadu, India. The main theme of the conference was “The Significance of Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) as Saviors of Rural Poor Students”. In addition to this she also presented a two-hour technical session on “Global Perspectives of Joint Liability Groups and Entrepreneurship”. The conference was an excellent platform for deliberations on economic growth, JLG’s and entrepreneurship. High-level representatives from the State Government, NABARD, regional banks and universities were present in the conference, creating a stimulating environment in which to exchange ideas on research, teaching, and managerial practices through formal presentations and informal interaction.
